The Vampire is a creature that feeds not only on blood. It devours:

— time,
— trust,
— self-belief.

In folk tales, it isn’t only a monster but also a symbol of a person or situation that drains life energy, exhausts, and clings like a shadow. It approaches silently, always nearby when you fail to set boundaries, when you allow others to exploit your kindness, resources, or patience.

Its appearance symbolized a danger that creeps quietly but takes much.

They say:
“The Vampire doesn’t enter a house by itself—you let it in without noticing.”

CARD MEANING

UPRIGHT POSITION

Short meaning:

Energy vampire, exhaustion, someone draining your resources, someone planning to take from you, dangerous attachment, over-giving, parasitic interaction.

Extended meaning:

In the upright position, the card warns that someone or something nearby is draining your strength, time, motivation, or resources. This could be:
— a person who constantly demands attention,
— a manipulator playing on emotions,
— a toxic team or project,

This symbolizes a complete severance from what harmed you—or at least the awareness of the danger and the first steps toward freedom.

In work — withdrawing from a project or connection that was dragging you down.
