LEGEND

The White Bat appears only on the darkest nights, when the moon rises so high over the world that it casts cold light straight into the forest’s abyss. In ancient legends, it was a harbinger of nocturnal truths—knowledge that reveals itself only when a person dares to look into the darkness, rather than fleeing from it.

It was called “The Seer of the Night” because it saw what was hidden:
— the intentions of others,
— concealed threats,
— a person’s own shadows,
— truths that are frightening but saving.

However, the White Bat carried not only fear. It could also point to an object, sign, or opportunity that a person had not noticed in the dark—because the greatest treasures are hidden in shadow.

At the same time, it was a messenger of unpleasant minor things: foolish news, unexpected expenses, gloomy thoughts that could strike suddenly.

The card says:
“Whoever hears the scrape of the White Bat’s wings must turn and look into the darkness: there’s something important there.”

CARD MEANING

UPRIGHT POSITION

Short meaning:

Shadow, fears, nocturnal truths, hidden opportunity, warning, unwelcome news, unexpected expenses.

Extended meaning:

In the upright position, the White Bat points to a situation where darkness misleads but simultaneously conceals a clue.

You may feel:
— anxiety,
— restlessness,
— tension,
— distrust,
— nighttime thoughts or inner chaos.

This is a card of heightened perception: something is near, you almost sense it, but cannot fully see it yet.

The card also warns of:
— unnecessary expenses (pause purchases),

In relationships — jealousy, unspoken issues, tension, and a tendency to exaggerate.

REVERSED POSITION

Short meaning:

Enlightenment, disappearance of fears, clarity, successful avoidance of mistakes, savings, good news.

Extended meaning:

In the reversed position, the White Bat indicates that:
— the darkness is lifting;
— fears are losing their power;
— what was hidden becomes obvious;
— you see the situation clearly;
— likely expenses have been avoided;
— unpleasant news either will not arrive or will turn out to be exaggerated.

In relationships — tension disappears, clarity emerges, and honest communication.
In work — hidden details are revealed, decisions are precise, and finances stabilize.
In spirituality — inner light cuts through the darkness; you overcome the shadow rather than flee from it.

The card says:
